Simple Past and Jeopardy Answer Keys

Hey everyone, John from Cool English, with the weekly new activities. I redid the Simple Past activity to include more reviews. I also added answer keys to all the jeopardy games.

Simple Past

This activity has eight parts to help learn and review the simple past tense.

Learn – Charts explaining how to use the simple past with examples.

Multiple-Choice – Fill in the blank review with pictures and clickable multiple-choice options.

Open Questions – Conversation questions to ask and answer, focusing on the simple past.

Form The Phrase – Create phrases from the prompts in the positive, negative, and interrogative forms.

3 Options – Use one of the 3 forms positive, negative, and interrogative, to create the other two.

Short Story – An open cloze activity using a short story and a word key to fill in the missing words.

Video Clips – Watch short video clips and try to repeat the simple past phrase.

Review Game – create phrases based on pictures and win points.

Jeopardy Answer Keys

Now every one of the Jeopardy games has a handy answer key that teachers can open and print or save to help when using the game. Remember there are over forty games with five different versions, Traditional, Kids, PVSG (pronunciation, vocab, spelling, grammar), Academic (11–12-year-olds), Genius level, Word Formation (nouns, verbs, adjectives, prefixes, suffixes).

I will be adding more games to each category soon.

Enjoy this week’s new activities and check back next week for more cool stuff on coolenglish.net.
