Hello everyone, it's John from Cool English, with another weekly activity update! This week, we're adding to our Language Function Role Plays series with a focus on introductions—a fundamental skill that helps students at all levels articulate themselves and connect ideas fluently.
Here's how to get started:
Choose a Scenario: Select from a variety of situations that require an introduction.
Key Components: Review the four essential elements that must be included in each introduction.
Timer or No Timer: Opt to use a timer for added challenge or forgo it, depending on the student's level.
Class and Homework: We typically tackle a few scenarios in class, and then I assign the remaining ones for homework. Students record their performances and send me the audio files for feedback.
This exercise closely simulates the speaking component of the IELTS exam, making it an excellent preparatory activity.
