Phrasal Verbs 5

Hey everyone, John from Cool English with a new Phrasal Verb set. I love teaching phrasal verbs as I feel they are more common in many ways than the more proper verbs they represent. For example, instead of saying to vomit, I believe it is common and more polite to say throw up. I also feel students misunderstand phrasal verbs because they look at them literally, which doesn't always work.

Here is the 5th set on coolenglish.net. It has twelve phrasal verbs with definitions, story choices, multiple-choice, headline synonyms, fill-in-the-blanks, open questions, video synonyms, jeopardy review, and a self-grading test.

I usually start by showing the definitions and then use one or two of the reviews. Then I assign two to three reviews for homework. Next class we review again and go over doubts then I assign the test for homework.

I will have a podcast episode to accompany it soon.

John
