Hello, my fellow teachers, John from Cool English with a new activity to share. I’ve had many teachers ask for this one, so I finally got around to it. Today I have the past perfect tense made easy. I know this is a challenging grammar point to teach, so I hope this activity makes it a little easier.
There are eight parts to the activity.
· Learn – a diagram of the past perfect simple with the three main uses and some examples.
· Past Perfect or Simple Past – choose between the two with pictures related to the phrases.
· Complete The Story – a short story that asks students to choose the form of certain verbs.
· Form The Phrases –finish a phrase in the past perfect tense using the provided prompts.
· Join The Phrases –join sentences using a provided word or phrase.
· Video Clips – repeat the past perfect phrase or question in the video clips.
· Last Week – explain why something did or did not happen last week using the past perfect.
· Test – an auto-correcting test with ten multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions.
All of them are interactive and designed with teachers in mind. Please let me know if you have any feedback.
John
