Hey everyone, John from Cool English with your weekly new activities. As it is that time of year again, I have some new Christmas activities for you. There is a new 100,000-dollar pyramid game X-mas edition, a new X-mas song, and a famous X-mas poem/story for reading and listening comprehension.
100,000-dollar pyramid X-mas edition – this fun game has 6 sets of 6 words. Students must make their partner or team say the words without saying the word. It’s like taboo but gamified. There is an optional 90 sec timer and the ability to skip words if they are too difficult. For online classes I ask the guessing students to turn their head so they can't see.
Jingle Bells X-mas Carol – this classic song is fun to warm-up your class. There are multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank options with a printable PDF. Also, there are the official, lyric, and karaoke videos.
The Night Before Christmas – this classic poem is fun to read through or listen to. There are clickable vocab words with definitions. I like to read it and then question the students about what is happening in the story.
