Greetings to all teachers and learners!

John from Cool English here, presenting another engaging activity for you this week - the 'Movie and TV Vocabulary.' Who doesn't love a good film or TV series? These activities help you learn the vocabulary associated with this universally enjoyed entertainment medium. It can make conversations on this topic much more enjoyable when you're familiar with the jargon.

Our activity is divided into several interactive sections:

Learn: The learning begins with 30 words, distributed across easy, medium, and hard levels. Each word comes with a definition and an accompanying picture. Click 'Reveal' to check your guesses against the actual word.
Multiple Choice: Try your hand at 10 multiple-choice questions based on pictures and fill-in-the-blank phrases. Choose an answer and instantly find out if you're right!
Video Clips: Here's a fun game! Watch 10 short video clips, each featuring three of the vocabulary words. Ask your students to repeat the words they hear in the clips and award points for correct responses.
Definition Game: Engage in a Jeopardy-style review! Students must listen to or read the definition and guess the word. Correct answers earn points.
Open Questions: Get the conversation rolling with 12 questions based on the movie and TV vocabulary. Encourage students to ask and answer these questions in a conversational manner.
Slot Machine: This exciting game challenges students to identify vocabulary quickly. On pressing a button, three images flash briefly on the screen. Students must then try to recall and repeat the three words associated with these pictures.
Test: Finally, students take an auto-correcting test involving true/false, fill-in-the-blank, and multiple-choice questions. I encourage my students to aim for a grade above 80% to pass.
