Dynamic Reading – Choose Your Own Adventure

Updated: Apr 22, 2023

Hey everyone, John from Cool English here with something special this week. Do you remember choose-your-own-adventure stories? The ones where you would need to make a decision in the story, and the outcome would depend on your choice. I used to love these stories when I was a kid, and I think they are a great way to make reading more interactive and fun for your students. That's why I have created three choose-your-own-adventure stories for you to try. If you like them, I will make more.

SUPER MARIO

This is a basic-level story with colorful illustrations and a fun story about Mario saving Princess Peach from Bowser. Your students will need to help Mario navigate through different levels and defeat enemies. But be careful, some choices might lead to game over!

TREASURE HUNTING

This is an intermediate-level original story about a treasure hunter trying to make it to an island and get the gold, in the vein of Indiana Jones. Your students will need to use their logic, intuition, and luck to survive the dangers and puzzles that await them. But beware, some choices might lead to a dead end!

HARRY POTTER BOOK 1

This is an advanced-level story that follows the first book in the series, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”. Your students will need to relive the adventures of Harry and his friends as they discover the magical world of Hogwarts. If they have read the book, they should know the correct choices to make. But watch out, some choices might lead to a different ending!

I hope you and your students enjoy these activities and have fun reading. I would appreciate your feedback and suggestions on these stories and if I should make more. Please leave a comment below and let me know what you think.

Thanks, and check back next week for more cool stuff on coolenglish.net.
