Hey guys, hope you’re having a great weekend. This week I added a lot of Basic level stuff as there have been many requests. The first one I wanted to share is 100 Conversation Questions basic edition. I’ve had a couple more advanced versions on the site for a while now but this one has easier questions and topics. I really love this activity and use it almost every week.
Here are some of the ways I like to use it.
Use the 2-minute timer and tell them they need to answer all 4 questions, trying to use around 30 seconds per question. I think this is a great way to create a little pressure, get them to use transitions, and build time management for test prep.
Separate the class into 2 teams and have them alternately choose someone from the opposing team to ask one of the four questions. If they respond correctly, they get a point. Alternating for 3-4 topics and whichever team has more points at the end wins. For individual students set a goal like 10 points.
Open discussion in the class sometimes alternating between them asking me questions and me asking them or just having them ask each other. I like to have them try to create 2-3 more questions on the selected topic to see how they can create questions on the spot.
Homework, have the students record a 2-minute audio and send it to you with them answering all 4 questions.
I will be sharing all the new Basic level activities throughout this week. Hopefully, they will help and please let me know if you have any feedback.
John
